Injured Brumbies and Wallabies winger Henry Speight is confident he'll play in the crunch Super Rugby clash against the Crusaders in Canberra on Saturday afternoon.

Speight rolled his ankle in the opening minutes of last week's win over the Western Force but fought on with the injury before hobbling off in the second half, placing him doubt for the match against the Christchurch-based side in the final round of the competition's regular season.

The Brumbies have the chance to reclaim the lead in the Australian conference and heap pressure on the NSW Waratahs ahead of their clash with Queensland in Sydney on Saturday night.

"I'm pretty confident I'll play this weekend," Speight told AAP.

"I had a run yesterday (Tuesday) and tested it out and it was alright.

"Provided I get through a full day of training tomorrow, I'll be OK for selection.

"But I'm not going to take any risks with it if it's not 100 per cent."

The Brumbies go into the match equal on points (47) with the Waratahs and will most likely need a bonus-point win over the Crusaders with the Waratahs expected to ease past the hapless Reds.

"It's a massive game for us. The Crusaders have probably been the most successful teams in the Super Rugby history and they'll be hurting after missing out on the finals."

The Australian conference winner will get a week off and a home semi-final.
