Sport in Brief: Walcott leads Arsenal

Arsenal defeated Urdinese in the Champions League first leg play off, the Boomers opened London's new Olympic venue with a win against China and Sri Lanka thrashed Australia.

The Gunners won 1-0 against Urdinese after a goal from Theo Walcott in the first game of the post-Fabregas era.

They will play in Italy next week for a place in the group stage.

Sri Lanka beat Australia with a 78-wicket run and Rodney Eade becomes the third AFL coach to leave this season after the Western Bulldogs decided not to renew his contract.
