CRICKET - Meg Lanning has steered the Southern Stars into a fourth straight World Twenty20 final, with the skipper dominating England in a dramatic five-run win.

Lanning top-scored with 55 as Australia posted a total of 6-132 in Wednesday's semi-final at New Delhi, having been sent in to bat.

The 24-year-old then held a couple of clutch catches as England collapsed to finish 7-127 in response.

CRICKET - Opening batsman Jason Roy struck a career-best 78 as former champions England stormed into the World Twenty20 final with a seven-wicket romp against New Zealand on Wednesday.

Electing to field, England staged a strong comeback in the second half of New Zealand's innings to restrict their opponents to a modest 8-153 at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium.

NRL - Parramatta forward Manu Ma'u and his Gold Coast counterpart Ryan James were exonerated at the NRL judiciary on Wednesday night and are free to play in their respective round-five fixtures.

SOCCER - Spanish club Valencia has fired coach Gary Neville less than four months after hiring the former England defender.
