SOCCER - Uruguay striker Luis Suarez could face a ban of up to two years after being sensationally accused of biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, as the Italians crashed out of the World Cup with a 1-0 loss to the South Americans.

TENNIS - Australia has made its best start at Wimbledon in 15 years after Lleyton Hewitt and Nick Kyrgios joined five compatriots in reaching second round, while top seeds Serena Williams and Rafael Nadal also advanced.

CRICKET - Sri Lanka have beaten England by 100 runs, with just one ball to spare, to win the second Test at Headingley and so take the two-match series 1-0.

SOCCER - Socceroos striker Adam Taggart has signed a three-year contract with English Championship side Fulham, the 21-year-old leaving the Newcastle Jets having scored 18 goals in 44 appearances.
