CRICKET - Mitch Marsh's career-best haul of 4-61 in Australia's 177-run Boxing Day Test win has the hosts considering playing the all-rounder as the team's third seamer in the series finale at the SCG, which would open the door for Steve O'Keefe to play as a second spinner.

CRICKET - England's Steven Finn took three wickets but AB de Villiers remains at the crease with South Africa to go into the final day of the first Test on 4-136 chasing an unlikely 416 for victory.

TENNIS - World No.9 Richard Gasquet has withdrawn from next month's Australian Open with back problems.

CRICKET - Brisbane Heat skipper Chris Lynn smashed 101 off just 51 balls but it wasn't enough to haul in Hobart's 4-194, which was powered by a Dan Christian onslaught that included one massive six that was smashed on to the Gabba roof in Tuesday night's Big Bash clash.
