AFL - Fremantle superstar Matthew Pavlich has announced he'll play on for a 17th season in 2016, with the 33-year-old to go around again after signing a one-year contract extension.

CRICKET - There was a mixed reception and results as the pink ball made its return to the Australian cricket scene, but the only batsman to push his case for a first Test call-up was 35-year-old WA veteran Michael Klinger, who crafted an unbeaten century as his more high-profile contenders failed to grasp opportunities.
