SOCCER - Sepp Blatter will resign as president of FIFA just four days after being re-elected, his announcement coming on the same day it emerged that US authorities investigating corruption within the organisation believe FIFA secretary general Jerome Valcke was behind a payment of $US10 million to accounts controlled by a former FIFA vice-president Jack Warner.

SOCCER - The Premier League's player of the year Eden Hazard provided the master class and French star Loic Remy the highlight as Chelsea defeated Sydney FC 1-0 before a crowd of 83,598 at ANZ Stadium.
