AFL - Brisbane reinforced growing queries about Port Adelaide's AFL premiership credentials with a stunning 37-point upset win, as Fremantle maintained their perfect start with victory over the Western Bulldogs and Richmond posted their best win of the season in a pulsating five-point thriller against Collingwood.

SOCCER - Manchester City assured themselves of direct entry into next season's Champions League group stage with a 4-2 thumping of Swansea, Arsenal staying on course to join them after benefiting from a late own goal in a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

TENNIS - Maria Sharapova and Novak Djokovic warmed up for their French Open campaign by adding to their list of Italian Open triumphs with contrasting final wins.
