Sporting Lisbon have overcome an own goal to fight back for a 2-1 win at Rio Ave, leaving them provisionally in second place in the Portuguese league.

Sporting fell behind in the 51st minute of the Saturday game when Mauricio deflected Diego Lopes' cross into his own net.

But all three of Sporting's substitutions played a part in the comeback.

Islam Slimani levelled in the 70th and Carlos Mane took the winner with 10 minutes to go when he scored from a cross by Andre Carillo.

Also, Braga drew 2-2 at home with Arouca.

Sporting trails Benfica by two points before the leader visits Guimaraes on Monday.

FC Porto is two points behind Sporting before it plays Estoril on Sunday.
