San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker was listed as day-to-day by the NBA club on Friday after an MRI exam revealed the least severe strain possible in his left hamstring.
The French playmaker will have three more days to rest and recover before the Spurs face the Oklahoma City Thunder in the first game of the best-of-seven Western Conference finals Monday.
Parker suffered the "grade one" strain in San Antonio's series-clinching playoff victory Wednesday over Portland.
Early in the second quarter, Parker experienced tightness in his hamstring and did not return to the game.
Later Friday, it was announced that Parker had not been selected for the provisional 24-strong France squad to contest the August 30-September 14 World Championships in Spain.
France coach Patrick Beesley said he preferred to leave Parker "rest" to better prepare for the 2015 European Championships in Ukraine and the 2016 Rio Olympics.
It means Parker, who made his France debut in 2000, has still not competed in a worlds: the French did not qualify in 2002, Parker was forced into a late withdrawal in 2006 with a broken finger, and his club asked him not to play in 2010 after an injury-hit season.
Parker, a six-time NBA All-Star, averaged 23 points and 6.5 assists through the first four games against the Trail Blazers in sparking the Spurs into the West final for the third year in a row.
The Spurs, who won four NBA crowns from 1999 through 2007, lost to Miami in last year's NBA Finals. San Antonio was beaten by Oklahoma City in the 2012 Western Conference finals.
