Sri Lanka beat NZ, draw ODI series 1-1

A half-century from Tillakaratne Dilshan has lifted Sri Lanka to a 36-run win over New Zealand, levelling the rain-hit one-day series at 1-1.

Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by 36 runs via the Duckworth/Lewis method in the rain-hit third and final one-day international in Dambulla on Saturday to draw the series 1-1.

The Black Caps, set a D/L target of 216 in 33 overs, were 6-126 in 25 overs when bad light ended play.

The tourists needed to be 162 at that stage to win.

Sri Lanka had made 8-211 from 33 overs after the start was delayed by 90 minutes due to bad weather.

New Zealand had won the second game in Hambantota on Tuesday after the first match was washed out.

New Zealand will round off their short two-week tour with two Twenty20 internationals in Pallekele on November 19 and 21.
