Sri Lanka fights to 9-248 against England

Sri Lanka have set a modest target of 248 for England to chase down in the third ODI of the series.

Sri Lanka struggled to 9-248 in the third one-day international against England on Sunday, despite half-centuries from three batsmen.

Kusal Mendis (53), Dinesh Chandimal (62) and captain Angelo Mathews (56) all passed 50, but none of them could convert those innings into big scores after England put the tourists in to bat.

Upul Tharanga added 40 from 33 balls down the order.

Chris Woakes took two wickets with his last two deliveries in his 3-35 and fellow seamer Liam Plunkett had 3-46 to keep England in charge of the series.

England leads the five-match series 1-0 and can take a 2-0 lead with two games to play if it chases down Sri Lanka's modest score at Bristol's County Ground.
