St George Bank partners with designer

St George Bank's "vibrant" new uniforms will be designed by a top Australian designer.

St George Bank has partnered with a "big name" Australian designer to create new staff uniforms.

But the identity of the designer is being kept under wraps until he or she is announced on Monday during Sydney Fashion Week at Carriageworks in the inner city suburb of Eveleigh.

A St George spokeswoman says the bank has only recently started working with the designer.

"It's very new," she says. "It's a big name designer."

The current St George uniform - a grey suit - will be transformed into a more "vibrant look".

"We're looking for something with a bit more of an edge," the spokeswoman says.

The bank last changed its uniform three years ago.

The new uniforms will be part of an ongoing transformation for the bank, the spokeswoman says.

It comes after Qantas last year commissioned Paris-based Australian designer Martin Grant to design its new uniforms, which were modelled by Miranda Kerr.
