Stallings leads US golf, Percy in the mix

Scott Stallings has rocketed into a one-shot lead going into the final round of the US PGA Tour event in Alabama where Australian Cameron Percy is tied 6th.

Australian golfer Cameron Percy moved into a tie for sixth at the US PGA Tour event in Alabama where American Scott Stallings fired an 11-under 60 to vault to a one-stroke lead after three rounds.

A day after Chad Collins shot 60 to take the halfway lead, Stallings matched it by racking up an eagle and 10 birdies for the best score of his PGA Tour career.

Stallings' round was close to flawless as he hit every green in regulation, his only bogey a three-putt at the sixth on his way to a 19-under 194.

The 32-year-old Stallings leads compatriot Grayson Murray (64), with fellow Americans Tag Ridings (63) and Chad Collins (69) locked on 17 under.

Meanwhile, Percy fired a six-under 65 to move 12 places up the leaderboard on Saturday.

The 43-year-old Percy sits on 13 under and six shots off the pace going into the final round.
