Stan Lee to direct Bollywood superhero film

India’s first superhero, Chakra The Invincible, is going to Bollywood.

After launching the Indian comic book character 'Chakra The Invincible' in 2011, the ‘Spiderman' and ‘X-men’ creator Stan Lee will now bring the character to life in Bollywood.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lee and his producing partners Gill Champion from POW! Entertainment and Graphic India CEO Sharad Devarajan, have been in discussion with Bollywood directors to turn 'Chakra' into an action film.

Lee said in a statement: "We've set up some great meetings already with some of the most amazingly talented actors and directors in Indian cinema, and I have no doubt that these individuals will help make the Chakra film a massive hit in India and around the globe."

'Chakra The Invincible' is the story of teenager Raju from Mumbai. His mentor, scientist Dr Singh develops a technologically-enhanced suit that activates the chakras of the body and unleashes the person’s superpowers. Raju wears the suit to save his city from villains.

In 2013, Chakra become an animated series on the Cartoon Network India

The Bollywood film will go into production by the end of 2015 or early 2016.
