Stanford twin still behind bars in NSW

Marcus Stanford, the twin of a man accused of murdering NSW teacher Stephanie Scott, did not appear in court when his case was mentioned.

The twin brother of a man who allegedly murdered Leeton teacher Stephanie Scott has not made a bid for bail in a NSW court.

Marcus Stanford's case was briefly mentioned in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday but the 24-year-old did not appear.

The case was adjourned to the same court on September 30.

Stanford, from South Australia, is charged with being an accessory after the fact to Ms Scott's murder.

He allegedly received items belonging to Ms Scott in the mail and pawned them in a bid to help his brother.

His twin, Vincent Stanford, is accused of murdering and sexually assaulting Ms Scott on April 5 in the NSW Riverina town of Leeton.

Vincent, a school cleaner, was arrested on April 8 after police allegedly found a camera containing pictures of a burned body and blood in his ute at his Leeton home.

Two days after his arrest, Ms Scott's burned body was found in scrub at Cocoparra National Park, more than 70km from Leeton.
