Star Crows in the mix for Blues AFL clash

Adelaide look set to regain Eddie Betts, while skipper Taylor Walker and Rory Sloane are being given every chance to play in their AFL clash with Carlton.

Adelaide finally have some good news on the injury front, with star goalsneak Eddie Betts expected to return to take on his former side Carlton.

The Crows also haven't ruled out captain Taylor Walker and vice-captain Rory Sloane from Saturday night's Adelaide Oval clash against the Blues.

Walker left his side's AFL win over Gold Coast before halftime, but scans cleared him of significant hamstring damage, while Sloane has missed two games as he rests a foot sprain.

Betts suffered a hamstring injury in Adelaide's round-four loss to Collingwood, but has put his hand up to play.

"Eddie's had a couple of good weeks in rehab and trained with the main group earlier in the week," Crows football chief Brett Burton said on Tuesday.

"We expect him to play if he gets through main training."

The Crows have done well to sit fifth with a 4-2 record after labouring under the weight of one of the longest injury lists in the league early in the season.

Twelve players were listed on the injury update released by the club on Tuesday.

It was initially feared Walker would become the seventh Crow this season to be sidelined for a number of weeks with a hamstring injury.

But he pulled up well following the match and scans cleared the key forward of any significant damage on Monday.

"We'll warm him (Walker) up on (Wednesday) at main training," Burton said.

"If he gets through the warm up, he'll get into the full session and if he gets through that he's available to play."

The skipper had a slow start to the season after a foot injury interrupted his preparation.

While giving both he and Sloane a chance to play against Carlton, it wouldn't surprise to see the club err on the side of caution.

David Mackay (glute) was sidelined after three-quarter-time against the Suns, but he and Jake Kelly, who missed with a hand injury, are considered likely to be available.

Brad Crouch is still three to four weeks away from resuming as he battles groin soreness.
