Their existence beyond the WNBL finals remains in doubt but the remarkable SEQ Stars are feeling the love from basketball fans around the country.
Placed into liquidation less than three weeks ago, SEQ required a rescue package to complete the season and have battled their way through to next weekend's semi-finals.
In a fairytale finish, the first season franchise dropped just one of their last five games to come from outside the playoff zone and finish fourth.
The WNBL remains without a TV deal going into the finals but Basketball Australia chief executive Anthony Moore on Monday said he expected all matches to be live streamed online.
Minor premiers and defending champions Townsville will host second-placed Perth in the major semi next Sunday, while the Stars will play an elimination minor semi the previous night at third-placed Dandenong, where they won by 24 points in their final regular season game.
The club is completing the season without foundation coach Shane Heal, who wasn't retained as part of the rescue package, with one of his assistants Megan Thompson, taking over.
Admiration of the Queensland-based Stars has extended far beyond their own local fan base.
"On social media, there's so much love and support it's amazing and the girls keep feeding off that which is great," Thompson told AAP on Monday.
"We've been on the road a lot since everything happened but so many people have really embraced us."
Neither the Stars or BA can guarantee the club will play on beyond the finals series.
"At this point there's nothing set in stone," Thompson said.
"It's all up in the air and to be honest we're just focusing on the here and now."
Moore said BA were continuing to deal with the interested parties who were involved in the short-term bailout of the financially strapped club.
"We're talking to them about what a 2016-17 might look like," Moore told AAP.
"It's really too early to say and be drawn on speculation as to whether they (the Stars) are in or out.
"We just need to get through this next couple of weeks."
