Stay Smart Online Week is a government-led campaign designed to help Australians protect themselves online.
Launched yesterday, this year's campaign is themed 'On The Go,' and focuses on staying safe online when using social media and mobile devices.
Companies including Google, Facebook, PayPal and Twitter are among the organisations involved.
- Choose strong passwords that are different for each account and update them regularly.
- Sign out of websites every time you use them, particularly on public computers.
- Lock your screen or mobile device.
- Enable the ‘SafeSearch’ function in Google Chrome to filter out mature content.
