An autopsy has been carried out on the remains of teacher Stephanie Scott, with the bride-to-be now formally identified.

NSW Health says a post-mortem has been completed and a report is in the hands of the coroner.

Ms Scott's burned body was found in Cocoparra National Park, north of Griffith, on Friday afternoon by police.

Ms Scott was allegedly murdered by school cleaner Vincent Stanford and her body dumped and torched about 70km from her hometown of Leeton.

The 26-year-old was last seen at her workplace - Leeton High School - on Easter Sunday, six days before she was due to marry her fiance.

With her remains burned, police hoped a post-mortem would shed more light on how exactly Ms Scott died on Easter Sunday.

The completion of the process will also bring the Scott family one step closer to being able to have their daughter home for a funeral.
