Catalans Dragons have released former Manly and NSW forward Glenn Stewart just a year into his three-year contract for family reasons.

The 32-year-old back-rower has missed just two of the French club's 30 league and cup games in 2016 after joining them from South Sydney.

Stewart, who spent most of his career with Manly Sea Eagles, will make his final home appearance for the Dragons against Castleford on Saturday.

A Catalans spokesman said: "The club would like to wish him all the best for the future."
