Brett Stewart is set to sign a contract extension with Manly by the end of the month to keep him at the NRL club until at least the end of 2017.
The superstar fullback is contracted to the Sea Eagles until the end of next season, but is keen to re-affirm his commitment for a further season as soon as possible.
Such a deal would extend the 30-year-old's time at Brookvale into a 14th season.
"I am still here for one more year and I have started negotiations to stay here for one extra year at the moment," Stewart said.
"And if the body holds up like it is at the moment, I probably have another three or four years in me.
"I'm looking to extend one more year and will hopefully have that done in a couple of weeks. When I first debuted in 2003 I always viewed myself as a one club player and nothing has changed there."
Stewart said he has adjusted to life at Manly without his brother Glenn and good mate Anthony Watmough, and has shrugged off the niggling injuries that have plagued him over the last two seasons.
"I would say early on in the pre-season it was unusual not seeing some of the usual faces here that had been around for so long, but I suppose it is a business now and things happen," Stewart said.
"Everything is going well now, mainly my hamstrings were hindering me the last two years, but I seem to have got on top of that and since then I haven't had any niggles, so fingers crossed that continues."
