Stick with Moylan, Barba tells Blues

Star Sharks fullback and likely Maroons debutant Ben Barba says NSW should stick with Matt Moylan over James Tedesco for State of Origin III.

Queensland State of Origin debutant-in-waiting Ben Barba has urged NSW to stick with Matt Moylan at fullback for game three in favour of James Tedesco.

Support continues to grow for Tedesco to make his Origin debut in the dead rubber.

But star Cronulla fullback Barba, who is set to come into the Maroons side as a bench utility for the injured Michael Morgan, said the Blues should persist with Panthers captain Moylan who played in games one and two.

"Matt Moylan wasn't the reason the Blues lost," Barba said.

"He has done really well for a kid that young in only his second game of Origin.

"He started a little shaky but has gotten better and I'm sure (NSW coach) Laurie (Daley) was right in picking him."

Barba, whose return to career best form has helped lead the Sharks to the top of the NRL ladder, is hopeful of making his Origin debut in Sydney next month.

"I would like to think my name has been tossed around," he said.

"I just have to focus on the weekend and hope for the best. But there are definitely a few blokes they could choose from.

"I have sat and watched Origin for as long as I can remember, and being a proud Queenslander I have always wanted to wear that jersey.

"If it doesn't come this year hopefully it comes down the track."
