Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at the close on Monday, Feb 24:

BPT - BEACH ENERGY - up 13.5 cents, or 8.9 per cent, at $1.66

Shares in Beach Energy have jumped after the oil and gas producer more than tripled its half year profit and lifted guidance.

BSL - BLUESCOPE STEEL - up 43 cents, or 7.3 per cent, at $6.30

Steelmaker BlueScope Steel has returned to profitability thanks to improved performances from its North American, Asian and Australian businesses.

BLY - BOART LONGYEAR - down 6.5 cents, or 15.3 per cent, at 36 cents

The world's largest drilling company says it will review its operations after posting a full year net loss of $US620 million.

CTX - CALTEX AUSTRALIA - up 45 cents, or 2.2 per cent, at $20.94

Caltex Australia has suffered a 28 per cent slide in its full year profit, partly due to the impacts of the fall in the Australian dollar.

MND - MONADELPHOUS - up $1.08, or 6.5 per cent, at $17.66

Engineering group Monadelphous has clinched a major construction contract for an LNG project in Darwin.

NHF - NIB HOLDINGS - down two cents, or 0.8 per cent, at $2.56

Health insurer NIB has grown its half year net profit by nine per cent.

PFL - PATTIES FOODS - up nine cents, or 7.3 per cent, at $1.33

Frozen food supplier Patties Foods expects its underlying profit in the second half of the 2013/14 financial year to at least match that of the prior year.

TSE - TRANSFIELD SERVICES - up 19.5 cents, or 24.5 per cent, at 99 cents

Asset management firm Transfield Services has been awarded a $1.2 billion contract to provide garrison and welfare services at Australia's offshore refugee processing centres on Nauru and Manus Island in Papua New Guinea.
