Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange at close on Wednesday:

ABC - ADELAIDE BRIGHTON - down 22 cents, or 5.87 per cent, at $3.53

Construction materials firm Adelaide Brighton expects full year profit in 2014 to be similar to that of 2013.

BHP - BHP BILLITON - down 28 cents, or 0.75 per cent, at $37.17

BHP Billiton says strike action by tugboat drivers at Port Hedland could force the company to halt production at its nearby iron ore mines.

QAN - QANTAS - down 1.5 cents, or 1.21 per cent, at $1.225

VAH - VIRGIN AUSTRALIA - up 0.5 cents, or 1.28 per cent, at 39.5 cents

A war between Qantas and Virgin Australia over capacity in the domestic market may be over, with Qantas to halt its growth in the coming months.

TEN - TEN NETWORK - down 0.5 cents, or 1.79 per cent, at 27.5 cents

The fate of up to 150 Network Ten workers is up in the air after the broadcaster announced plans to gut its news service and axe Wake Up.

WPL - WOODSIDE PETROLEUM - up 31 cents, or 0.76 per cent, at $41.23

Energy giant Woodside has terminated its agreement to take a stake in a $US2.7 billion natural gas project in Israel.
