Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, June 12:

AQA - AQUILA RESOURCES - up 12 cents, or 3.44 per cent, at $3.61

MIN - MINERAL RESOURCES - down 23 cents, or 2.22 per cent, at $10.14

Mineral Resources Limited appears to be positioning for a bidding war for West Australian iron ore miner Aquila Resources.

DOW - DOWNER EDI - down 59 cents, or 11.15 per cent, at $4.70

BHP Billiton has cancelled a $360 million mining services contract with Downer EDI at a Queensland coal mine, putting more than 400 jobs at risk.

FLT - FLIGHT CENTRE - up 53 cents, or 1.15 per cent, at $46.43

Travel agency Flight Centre has cut its profit forecast as slumping consumer confidence causes a drop in holiday bookings.

NXS - NEXUS ENERGY - up 0.2 cents, or 18.2 per cent, at 1.3 cents

SVW - SEVEN GROUP - down 20 cents, or 2.5 per cent, at $7.76

Nexus shareholders are expected to reject Seven Group's $26.6 million takeover offer for the struggling oil and gas company at a meeting on Thursday.
