The son of two Australians killed in the MH17 flight disaster says an end to the violence in Ukraine is more important than finding those responsible for shooting the missile that brought the plane down.

Queenslanders Roger and Jill Guard were among 298 passengers and crew killed when the Malaysia Airlines jetliner was shot down over eastern Ukraine in July.

Their bodies are being repatriated ahead of a private funeral service in Toowoomba.

Glenn Osborne asked their son Paul about the interim report into the incident released this week by Dutch authorities.
