After admitting nerves got the best of them in Cameron Smith's record-breaking game, Melbourne are promising not to blow their gilt-edged opportunity to win another NRL title.
The Storm have proven the team to beat all year and have been widely touted as shoo-ins for the premiership after streaking away with the minor premiership with 20 wins during the regular rounds.
Craig Bellamy's outfit are just the 10th side in the history of the competition to pass the 20-win mark however their week one finals win over Parramatta proved they were far from invincible.
After the Eels powered to a 10-4 halftime lead, the Storm had to come from behind, spurred on by inspirational skipper Smith's in a match where he set the new record for most club appearances.
Bellamy admitted his side was overcome by the occasion as the side got swept up in the euphoria as Smith passed Darren Lockyer's all-time record.
Heading into Friday's grand final qualifier against Brisbane at AAMI Park, Bellamy said they wouldn't fall into the same trap again, promising a more composed performance.
"I think a little bit," Bellamy said when asked if his side had suffered nerves against the Eels.
"Perhaps it was more about Cameron breaking that record and being edgy because of that.
"You were just hearing about it all week and they didn't want to let him down.
"Billy said earlier in the week, everyone has nerves around this time of year.
"If you're not nervous, you're probably not human, it's just a matter of how you handle those nerves."
