Through one of the biggest mistakes of his life, Jesse Bromwich has come out a bigger and better man.
That's the view of his brother and teammate Kenny as the bruising Melbourne forward pair prepare to turn over a new leaf in Sunday's NRL grand final.
Just four months ago, Jesse's career was at a crossroads after being caught up in drugs bust outside a Canberra nightclub in the early hours following the Anzac Test.
After being stripped of the New Zealand captaincy and dumped from the upcoming World Cup, he reached the lowest ebb of his career.
"He took it a bit hard. He took it really hard actually," Kenny told AAP.

"I just tried to be there for him, someone he can just talk to.
"Things did change a little bit. But things change for the better.
"He can really be someone that people can ask for advice from if they're ever in messy situations like he was in.
"Going forward, he can really lead this younger generation in a better direction from the mistake he made."
And so the 28-year-old gets a chance to seal his redemption story in Sunday's decider against North Queensland at ANZ Stadium.
Bromwich and Kiwis teammate Kevin Proctor weren't charged over the incident however were named in court by police.
Jesse admitted to doing the wrong thing and to having no memory of the incident after the pair were caught on CCTV sniffing a white powder off the phone of Adrian Mark Crowther, who subsequently pleaded guilty to cocaine supple and possession.
The Storm, in particular coach Craig Bellamy, stuck by Bromwich throughout the scandal and he is still being earmarked to take over the Storm captaincy upon Cameron Smith's retirement.
"I can see he's a bit older and wiser," Kenny said.
"But that's all in the past now and we're playing in a grand final this weekend. Things are looking good for us.
"After things were done he expressed how sorry he was, spoke to all the family and friends about what happened.
"Everyone has forgiven him and he's put that behind him and we're all looking forward now."
