Third-seeded Samantha Stosur has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Strasbourg International with a walkover after Ukrainian opponent Lesia Tsurenko withdrew with a back injury.

The Australian, a former finalist at the French Open, will next play Croatian-born Australian Ajla Tomljanovic, who defeated American Shelby Rogers 7-6 (8-6) 3-6 6-2.

Also, Sloane Stephens lost only five points on her first serve to join them in the quarterfinals with a 6-3 6-4 win over sixth-seeded Coco Vandeweghe in an all-American match at the clay-court tournament.
