Stosur into Hong Kong semi-finals

Australian tennis star Samantha Stosur has beaten Britain's Heather Watson in three sets to reach the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open.

Samantha Stosur has rallied for an encouraging three-set win over British player Heather Watson to reach the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open.

Looking to end a disappointing Asian swing on a high note, fifth-seeded Stosur downed Watson 4-6 6-3 6-0.

After suffering early exits in Tokyo, Wuhan and Beijing, Stosur will play German second seed Angelique Kerber for a place in Sunday's final.

Kerber accounted for No.7 seed Caroline Garcia of France, 7-5, 6-3.
