Sophie Devine produced the finest individual all-round performance in the history of the WBBL, finishing just shy of a century and five wickets.

Adelaide allrounder Sophie Devine was nonplussed about missing WBBL history by a mere five runs following her starring role in the Strikers' 19-run win over the Melbourne Stars on Sunday.

Devine followed her cracking 95 with a career-best haul of 5-41 with the ball, arguably the finest all-round performance in the WBBL's history.

The New Zealander fell just five runs shy of recording her second ton in Strikers colours and becoming the first player to notch the ultimate double of a century and a five-for in a Twenty20 match.

Devine wasn't overly concerned at narrowly missing a piece of cricketing statistical history given the fact she was starting to wane late in her dig.

"I don't think it's sunk in yet," she said.

"To be fair, the last couple of overs I was hitting them like a dog.

"I think it was almost better that I got out because the rest of the girls could come out and have a swing.

"Bridget (Patterson, 51 not out) was hitting them a fair bit better than me.

"It (falling short of 100) is disappointing, but who cares? We got the win."

Devine's first two deliveries to gun Stars opener Lizelle Lee went for six and four but the Kiwi had the last laugh when she got rid of Lee two deliveries later with a slower ball.

Devine continued to strike regularly, her five-wicket bag the first time she had taken more than two in an innings.

"It's nice to have that (first five-for) but I hope someone else in the team can go better than me this season or in the future."
