Strikers happy despite BBL cancellation

Adelaide Strikers coach Darren Berry was delighted with a total of 119 from its 10 overs against Sydney Thunder.

Adelaide Strikers coach Darren Berry says he was thrilled with his side's performance with the bat after smashing 5-119 in 10 overs against Sydney Thunder at Adelaide Oval.

The match was eventually abandoned one over into the Thunder's target of 120 due to persistent rain on Monday night.

Ryan ten Doeschate impressed with two sixes from his knock of 23 from 12 balls.

Berry also praised Alex Ross, who sent Ian Moran for two sixes with his first two deliveries, before firing two more in the final over.

Ross finished the innings with a knock of 30 not out from 11 balls, helping stretch Adelaide's total.

"It was good to see Ryan ten Doeschate hit some clean balls," Berry said.

"And young Alex Ross walked in and just set it alight.

"120 in 10 overs was outstanding but the Thunder would've come really hard at us, they've got some got some dangerous batsmen.

Berry is hoping the Strikers can get a home semi-final, but face two trips on the road before their fate is sealed, taking on the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades.

"It's disappointing for both teams, I'm sure the Thunder will be disappointed, they would've wanted a short game tonight with this rain," Berry said.

"It's more disappointing for the fans because the Adelaide fans have supported us this year unbelievably well and I know it's our last game and I hope to come home for a home semi-final."
