Ricky Stuart has predicted Jarrod Croker will continue to pile on the points after he became Canberra's most prolific NRL scorer ever.

Croker's late try and conversion, that pushed the game into extra-time in the Raiders' dramatic loss to St George Illawarra on Thursday night, made him the club's greatest ever pointscorer.

The Raiders skipper has notched up 1224 points in 173 first grade games for the club through 86 tries and 440 goals.

Croker usurped his former coach David Furner, who Stuart played alongside in the nation's capital. Premiership-winning back-rower Furner managed 1218 points through 49 tries and 511 goals.

"It is a shame that we can't appreciate it because we are all so dejected now and disappointed with how the game ended," Stuart said.

"But for a guy to reach that achievement at such an early part of his career is a credit to him and he has many many years to go.

"It is a wonderful achievement, he knows how much we appreciate what he does for us."

Croker's effort was in vain, as the Dragons won the round 10 opener after Euan Aitken scooped up a loose Jack Wighton pass to race 20m after the hooter in the first golden-point period to score and claim the victory.

"It is probably something I will look back on in a couple of years time," Croker said.

"But I would give those points back for a couple of wins the last few weeks."
