Suncorp chief executive Michael Cameron has announced three new appointments to the insurance and banking group's executive team.

Mr Cameron on Wednesday said the changing environment had prompted the move to establish separate chief risk officer and chief legal officer roles.

David Carter has been appointed CEO of Banking and Wealth; acting chief risk and legal officer Fiona Thompson will take on the position of chief risk officer and Kate Olgers has been appointed chief legal officer.
