Suncorp's flags $75m efficiency program

Suncorp expects to reap more than $170 million in benefits within three years from a $75 million investment in its operating systems.

Suncorp is spending $75 million to improve its operating systems in a move it says will allow it to process insurance claims more efficiently.

The insurance and banking group says the investment will deliver $170 million in benefits through improved efficiency in its processing of claims, repairs, procurement and business intelligence by the 2018 financial year.

Suncorp is also working on a new banking platform that it says will lower costs and deliver a better product to customers.
