Gold Coast midfielder Touk Miller has joined fellow captaincy options David Swallow and Jarrod Witts in signing long-term deals with the AFL club.

The 22-year-old extended his deal until the end of the 2022 season on Thursday, saying he had faith in the club's direction under second-year coach Stuart Dew.

Miller is being touted as an option to captain the club since the departure of last season's co-leaders Steven May and Tom Lynch.

Wary of not causing any unwanted noise at the club around his future during the season, Miller was keen to finalise the deal sooner rather than later.

"I couldn't be happier to sign and lock in my future with the Suns," Miller said.

"Gold Coast is home and I'm stoked to be able to continue my career at the club.

"I think we have all the right people and I had no hesitation in committing to the playing group and the program that the club has put in place."

Pick 29 in the 2014 draft, Miller is expected to hold his place in a new-look midfield this season that should feature ex-Richmond talent Anthony Miles.

"There has been significant change at the club, but our members and fans should be really excited by the level of commitment everyone is showing to help drive this club forward," Miller said.
