A Gold Coast player has come forward to Suns chief executive Andrew Travis to admit he travelled to Launceston in March 2013 with teammate Harley Bennell.
The Suns are reeling after photos of Bennell in a hotel room in Tasmania allegedly using illicit drugs were published across the country on Thursday.
In the wake of the publication, Travis says another player has revealed to him he was on that same trip to Tasmania as Bennell.
The Suns boss says he will reveal the player's identity once all the facts had been gathered but says there's no indication the player did anything illegal on that trip.
"We did have a player come forward to us in the last 24 hours in relation to the media and confirm they did travel to Launceston in March 2013," Travis told ABC Gold Coast on Friday morning.
"We're appreciative they've made that choice to come forward and we'll now obviously work through that with them.
"There's no suggestion they've done anything wrong. They were in Launceston, that's all we know at this stage."
Bennell has been stood down from Saturday's home match against North Melbourne in the wake of the revelations, amid concerns for his welfare.
Travis said no action had been taken against the other player at this stage and he appreciated the honesty.
"That can now form part of our investigation into the matter," Travis said.
"That's what we've said all along, please come forward, give us information, give us facts and then we'll be able to deal with it rather than respond to media speculation."
