Sydney Roosters-bound winger Joe Burgess has scored his second Super League hat-trick in eight days as Wigan thumped a depleted Hull KR 60-0.

The victory maintained Wigan's perfect home record this season and consolidated third place.

Burgess, who moves to the NRL next season, took his tally for the year to 13 to go top of Super League's try chart while five-eighth George Williams scored two as the Warriors cruised to victory over a hapless Rovers side.

Wigan coach Shaun Wane was delighted Wigan kept a clean sheet for the second time in three weeks.

"We worked our on defence this week and we defended tough and strong and forced errors on them, which is very satisfying," he said.

"I know our outside backs (were) scoring tries but I thought our middles were superb. It was just good ruby league.

"But I'm not going to get carried away. They were busted and we know it will be a different game in two weeks."

Already without skipper Terry Campese, leading scorer Josh Mantellato, hooker Shaun Lunt and new signing Dane Tilse, the visitors suffered another blow when second-rower Kevin Larroyer limped out of the warm-up.

A last-minute reshuffle meant a second start for teenager Josh Guzdek and a Super League debut off the bench for another youngster, hooker Connor Robinson.
