Warrington forward Anthony England could be banned for up to eight matches after being charged with spitting at an opponent.
The 28-year-old former Featherstone prop was one of four players sin-binned during a spiteful Super League match between the Wolves and Huddersfield at the John Smith's Stadium in England on Sunday.
He was shown a yellow card along with Giants captain Danny Brough following an outbreak of fighting and apparently had to be restrained as the players continued their argument on the sidelines.
England has been charged by the Rugby Football League's match review panel with a grade E offence which is rated alongside gouging and biting as one of the most heinous crimes that can be committed on a rugby field and carries a suspension of between four and eight matches.
The player does not have the option of submitting an early guilty plea and will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal on Tuesday.
