The annual sci-fi convention at Homebush has been gaining increasingly large crowds over recent years, offering something for all fans, organiser Daniel Zachariou said.

“Animation, comic books, sci-fi fantasy - we're here to make those dreams come true for people to meet famous people, dress up in costume, act out,” he said.

“There's heaps of cool stuff to buy, see and do.”

Headlining this year's expo is Marvel comic book pioneer Stan Lee, the creator of Spiderman and the Fantastic Four.

Richard Kiel, the actor who played James Bond's oversized nemesis Jaws, is also on the line up alongside Mythbuster’s Grant Imahara.

“Our show is one where we don't have a studio audience so we don't normally get fan interaction,” he said.

“It's awesome to reach out to the fans a make a connection.”

Organisers are expecting more than 50 thousand fans through the gates this weekend, giving the young, and the young at heart a chance to live out their fantasy of becoming a real -life super hero.
