The Rip Curl Pro is on hold again, with poor conditions at Bells Beach prompting organisers to call off competition for Good Friday.

But the forecast predicts improved conditions over the next few days.

Only nine of the 12 men in the opening round have gone ahead since the competition period opened on Wednesday.
