A man has been injured after a suspected explosion at a Melbourne home.

A man has been hurt after a suspected explosion at a Melbourne home.

Police attended a Heidelberg West address on Tuesday morning after a man showed up at the Austin Hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokesman said they were conducting a search of the Ramu Parade property and investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's injuries.

Fairfax Media reported there had been a suspected homemade bomb explosion at the address but police are yet to confirm that.
