South Sydney back-rower John Sutton is a chance to return for the Rabbitohs' NRL clash with Cronulla on Monday night, hooker Issac Luke says.
Luke said Sutton trained on Friday and the veteran was in the mix to come back from a broken jaw sustained in round two.
"We'll see," Luke told reporters on Friday in Sydney.
"(Sutton's) got training today so I guess we'll figure that out after training."
Centre Dylan Walker, who is on the mend from a broken hand, is also undergoing tests but teammate Jason Clark will not give away a return date.
"They're (Sutton and Walker) doing tests each week to get back to their full strength," Clark said.
"I don't know how far they will be but our staff are working hard with them."
The experienced pair would be welcome reinforcements for injured playmaker Adam Reynolds (knee), who Clark said was missed last week against North Queensland.
"You take a halfback out of any team ... it will hurt," Clark said.
Meanwhile, forward Chris McQueen says the Rabbitohs' attitude must improve when they travel to Remondis Stadium to face a Cronulla side who have won two in a row.
The Rabbitohs come into the game after being thumped 30-12 by the Cowboys and conceding 26 unanswered points in the second half.
"(There's) a bit of embarrassment coming out of that game, knowing we didn't perform anywhere near our best," McQueen said.
"We have to get our attitude right. They're (Cronulla) always tough to beat out there at Shark Park, so we have to show up ready to play."
McQueen said fatigue was not behind their poor performances in the past two weeks, despite a tough pre-season with games in the UK.
"I don't think that comes into it - it's just an attitude thing.
"We know we've not been where we want to be. We know we've got improvement in us."
