Referees Gerard Sutton and Ben Cummins have been retained to officiate in State of Origin III.

The duo have refereed in both matches in the series so far to relatively little controversy.

NRL referees boss Tony Archer said they deserved to hold their spots given their efforts in Queensland's win in game one and NSW's victory in game two.

"I was happy with the way they officiated in game one, and I thought they did an even better job in game two," Archer said.

"All officials from game two have been retained and I'm confident this is the right group for the decider."

Bernard Sutton and Luke Patten are the video referees for the match, in Brisbane on Wednesday week.

Nick Beashel and Brett Suttor are the touch judges.
