Medal-winning Russian track and road cyclist Kirill Sveshnikov has been suspended from competition and training after testing positive for a banned substance.
The ruling was based on Sveshnikov's 'A' sample from the Russian track championships in January, the Russian anti-doping agency RUSADA said in a statement on Wednesday.
RUSADA didn't disclose what the banned substance was.
Russia for years had a poor reputation for doping violations but tried to clean up its act ahead of the Winter Olympics in Sochi held this February.
Sveshnikov, 22, won the bronze medal at the world cycling championships in Minsk last year and raced for the Lokosphinx team.
