Sydney coach John Longmire says his players have a decision to make as they deal with the fallout from last week's AFL thrashing by Hawthorn and a broken hand for Kurt Tippett.
Ruck-forward Tippett will miss two to three weeks after breaking his hand in the second quarter of last Saturday's 89-point loss to Hawthorn, while midfielder Craig Bird will sit out for up to four matches with a calf strain.
Longmire hopes to have first-choice ruckman Mike Pyke and defender Jeremy Laidler back from injury and says rookie forward Isaac Heeney is a good chance of playing against West Coast in Perth next Sunday.
He said the big challenge for Sydney was to quickly get back to playing the two-way football which has been a big factor in their success of recent years.
"We've just got a decision to make, do we want to play really good consistent team football both sides of the ball or don't we?" Longmire said.
"At the moment we're picking and choosing a little bit when we're making those decisions."
