Sydney's triple-headed forward monster had the Cats running scared on Thursday night, but AFL star Kurt Tippett warns that's just a taste of what's to come.
The Swans' record 110-point mauling of Geelong at the SCG extended their winning streak to six and shot them up to second on the ladder - behind only high-flying Port Adelaide.
"To be on top in a game like that is a lot of fun," Tippett told reporters after the team's recovery session at Bronte Beach on Friday.
"We didn't have a bad player last night. And that can become our benchmark and really continue to drive us if we play to those standards."
Power forwards Tippett (5.3), Lance Franklin (4.3) and Adam Goodes (3.1) combined for 12 goals, in what was just their third game together after the trio battled injuries earlier in the season.
But, according to the former Adelaide tall, their partnership is still "a work in progress".
"I think we're sort of making it up on the fly at the moment," he said.
"We're still getting used to each other and the movement patterns. So we'll continue to get better.
"Hopefully, we can grow as a forward group in the coming weeks."
The Swans looked far from premiership contenders less than two months ago, having lost three of their four opening games - including against lowly cross-town rivals Greater Western Sydney - and North Melbourne.
But now, some have labelled them flag favourites - a claim which will be tested against Gold Coast next Sunday and ladder leaders Port Adelaide the following Saturday.
"We didn't start the season the way we wanted to but, since then, we've been able to regroup and focus on a few key areas that we think are really important to playing good consistent footy and that's been able to turn our season around a little bit," Tippett said.
"In saying that, we've got a long way to go.
"If you're not improving, someone else will be. So that's our challenge - to keep working hard, keep improving as a side."
