Sydney's poor home record this season is offering GWS no encouragement, as they strive to improve their own bad form at the SCG in Saturday's AFL elimination finals clash.
Even if the Swans beat their cross-city rivals, they will still finish their SCG campaign with a 50 per cent record, having already lost six of their 11 fixtures.
If the Giants win, Sydney will end the season having lost more than half of their games at the SCG for the first time in 17 years.
Four of their 2018 home defeats have been by 12 points or less and none of them by more than four goals.
"We've just let ourselves down at the back end of games," Swans stalwart Kieren Jack told AAP.
Sydney coach John Longmire is also acutely aware his side have paid the price for not controlling games down the stretch.
"Probably in the last five to ten minutes we've just dropped away, so that's something we need to be mindful of, in playing the full game out," Longmire said.
This year, Sydney beat the Giants at both the SCG and Spotless Stadium.
Having won only one of their six matches at the SCG, the Giants aren't taking any confidence out of Sydney's struggles at home.
"Not at all," GWS back Nick Haynes told AAP.
"It's finals footy and the whole ball game changes. They're going to come out firing, they're an experienced finals team."
The only previous Sydney finals derby in 2016 ended in a six-goal win for the Giants at ANZ Stadium.
That match was memorable for it's bone-jarring physicality and both teams are predicting a similar style of contest on Saturday afternoon.
