They didn't have Adam Goodes but Sydney's new-look forward line looked the goods as the impressive Swans surged to a 47-point AFL win over Richmond at the SCG on Sunday.
Down by 13 early, the premiers responded to the challenge, kicking six straight goals either side of the last change, climbing to third spot with a 16.14 (110) to 9.9 (63) victory.
Richmond couldn't contain the Sydney talls up forward, with Jesse White equalling his career best haul of four goals and Kurt Tippett bagging three majors.
They were well serviced by a rampant Sydney midfield with Ryan O'Keefe tallying 30 touches, Dan Hannebery and Kieren Jack 26 each and impressive rookie Tom Mitchell 25.
Trent Cotchin and Dustin Martin notched 30 possessions for the Tigers, with Jack Riewoldt kicking three goals.
The Swans continue to post good scores despite currently being without their three main key forward targets from last season, Goodes, Sam Reid and Lewis Roberts-Thomson.
They are also presently without leading goalkicker and small forward Ben McGlynn and the pacy Lewis Jetta.
"It is a bit of a different look, but we've been pleased with that because we've got some different players playing the game this year to what we had last year and we're still being competitive," Sydney coach John Longmire said.
"It's a real credit to the older players and a credit to those younger blokes that have grabbed their opportunities."
He paid tribute to White, who was used as trade bait last year.
"It's a credit to him, he's been able to apply himself and grab his opportunities now, which he hasn't done in the past, as well as what he's doing now, " Longmire said.
"He seems to have levelled out those peaks and troughs at times that he had and he's playing pretty consistent footy now."
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said his team got their backside kicked and admitted they couldn't handle the Swans tall timber up forward.
"We started off okay, but then we just couldn't control the ball at any stage and Sydney to their credit ran over the top of us." Hardwick said.
"The thing that hurt us was they had a couple of big targets up forward that probably got hold of us."
"We probably went for a smaller sized back six and just couldn't quite handle their talls and (ruckmen) (Shane) Mumford and (Mike) Pyke were big targets also."
Rebounding well out of defence early, The Tigers kicked three of the first four goals to lead by 13, with Martin looking especially dangerous.
Sydney kicked the next four goals with the teams level at the first change after sharing ten majors.
The Swans led by 15 at halftime, but two goals from Riewoldt got the Tigers within ten points in the third quarter.
Sydney again responded, notching the next four majors and the first two of the final term.
Ty Vickery suffered concussion and fellow Tiger Ricky Petterd a sore groin.
